Two Poems

By Zack Lyon

365 Days

365 days that go on and on,
until they reach back to number 1
and again it starts the same old song
out of tune, a musician gone wrong.

Day upon day, year on year
to which we have no choice, but to revere,
the steady decline of a western world,
imperialistic dreams that now are sold.

Come together, men and woman, boy and girls
Take your hopes and and show the world
We’re not lost, nor are we forgotten,
We are not, yet the bettroden.

Tractor

How much longer
Will this tractor
Ruin my life.

Turning the soils
In all the wrong directions.

Nothing will grow
With a tractor like mine.

It serves a purpose
For meaningless tasks
Like cutting the grass.

But……

How much longer
Will this tractor ruin my life.
