Hong Kong Celebrates the Poets of the African Diaspora
Peel Street Poetry is Hong Kong’s weekly open mic poetry gig and has been going strong for ten years. The following poems were original pieces performed at Peel Street Poetry’s second annual Celebrating Poets of the African Diaspora event. The event, which this year raised money for local charity Keeping Kids in Kindergarten, was an incredible success and a true testament to the talent of the Hong Kong poetry scene. Eastlit. is proud to highlight four of the poets involved in the event as well as their poems.
